Blazoning Your Device

The act of blazoning your device is broken into three parts: blazoning the field, the ordinaries and the charges.

The Field
The field is the background of the blazon, the backdrop on which the design is set. It can either be a blank slate of a single color, or broken into three or three divisions.
Select how you wish the Field to be blazoned:
Now select the tincture (or color) of the Field. If you have selected a divided field, this will be the color of either the leftmost or topmost division:
If you have selected a divided field, select the color of the other division:
the Ordinaries
Ordinaries are lines and areas that go across the top, middle, bottom and every which way around the field. They tend to be bold and contrasting against the field. In this example, you can select up to three different ordinaries to blazon. Bear in mind, however, the simplier is better.

and The Charges
Charges are geometric shapes or natural objects that decorate the blazon. Usually they are grouped in specific patterns, resembling the ordinaries, but not always. Typically they sit on "top" of the ordinaries, but again, not aways. In this example, you are given the chance to use three sets of ordinaries, in groups of up to three each. Again, simple is better!
